FREE Crochet Library Software Download
Print this page for easy reference

Click here to download the Crochet Library
This download creates a special crochet directory on your PC into which you can start collecting our unique downloadable FULLY ILLUSTRATED crochet instruction booklets. Please follow the simple instructions below for download and installation:

Simply double-click on the underlined line above. If you have Internet Explorer installed or are running America Online, you will be presented with the following screen. Please select "Save this program to disk". Save the file to your regular download directory. (If you are using America Online, that would be the "Download' directory within the AOL directory).

Now go into "Windows Explorer" and look for the file that you just downloaded. If you are running America Online 6.0 and above, the system will automatically find the file for you. Shown below is one way you could find the downloaded file.

Now double-click on the file and the following screen will pop up.

Press the "Unzip" button. This will cause a new directory to be created on your hard drive called "C:\crochet" which will contain the components of the Crochet Library.

WAYS TO ACCESS YOUR PC CROCHET LIBRARY:

Method One: Select "Start,Windows Explorer" on your PC, and then simply find the "index.htm" page in the "c:\crochet" directory. Double-click on that file (Index.htm) to get into the library. You can do this every time you want to use your crochet library on your PC.

Method Two: A much better way to access the library is to set up a "shortcut" to the library. That means that when you sign on to your PC you will automatically see the graphic below on the PC's screen and you will be able to double-click it and immediately get into the library.

What the shortcut looks like!

Shown below is the computer screen with a
shortcut set up to open the Crochet Library!

To do this, find the CROCHET directory on your PC - the directory into which you "unzipped" all of the eBooklets- and then find the "PATCHWORK CROCHET" shortcut file within it. Copy it by selecting - from Toolbar on top - "Edit, Copy". See illustration below

Following is to be done for Windows 95 and 98: Find the directory on your PC called "c:\windows\desktop". Copy the shortcut into this directory by selecting - from Toolbar on top - "Edit,Paste". You are all set!

Following is to be done for Windows NT: Find the directory on your PC called "c:\winnt\desktop". Copy the shortcut into this directory by selecting - from Toolbar on top - "Edit,Paste". You are all set!

Following is to be done for Windows ME and 2000: Find the directory on your PC called (simply) "Desktop" - when you are in "Windows Explorer" mode. Copy the shortcut into this directory by selecting - from Toolbar on top - "Edit,Paste". You are all set!
